Overview

The Manager, Logistics Operations provides direct leadership and managerial oversight for all Distribution Center (DC), Warehousing and Remote Storage operations. Transform and optimize safety, financial and operational parameters to Best-In-Class standards. Serve as a key decision-maker in the execution of broad organizational and operational objectives. Responsible for directly monitoring, managing and reporting the quality, performance, productivity and accuracy of work.

Responsibilities

  • Governance
    • Develop and train a Logistics framework that includes operational procedures, job aids and task aids aimed at driving to an ISO/TL9000 process standard and one that maximizes KPI results related to: Inventory accuracy & optimization, Order Mgmt. / Fulfillment, Warehousing, Distribution and Transportation. Critical to success factors are: Safety, Security, Accuracy, Output Quality, Stakeholder enablement / Service Excellence, Cleanliness, Cost Containment / Budget Mgmt., Cycle-time improvement and Operational Sustainability.
  • Strategy & Operations
    • Assist Leadership in the benchmarking, development and implementation of strategies and tactics that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness; meeting or exceeding performance metrics and KPI’s. Develop and operationalize transportation and supply plans that optimize workflow, inventory balances and distribution channels.
  • Margin Expansion
    • Continually rationalize and optimize cycle-time and logistics cost-to-operate. Support leadership in development of business impact statements / ROI analysis for use in CapEx / OpEx assessments. Provide input to logistics design / modeling initiatives aimed at optimizing total landed costs.
  • Relationship Management
    • Excite and enable internal Clients. Provide input to and aggressively manage agreements / contracts with 3rd Party Providers (3PP’s). Represent the Department as an action-oriented problem solver.
  • Force
    • Inspire, build and scale a world-class Logistics team that is analytical, data driven and focused on solution delivery, performance improvement, process optimization, accountability and safety. Provide hands-on operational supervision and training to include; timely and meaningful performance feedback. Optimize labor allocation across the operation.
  • Systems
    • Champion and train the adoption of eLogistics concepts to include Robotics, Spatial Design, RPA/C and ERP/SCM applications / tools Enterprise-wide, etc. Provide input to the development of business requirements, processes and tools that enhance visibility, accountability, workflow and overall quality and capacity of operational output.
  • Metrics & Reporting
    • Establish and relentlessly measure, track and report all Logistics operational parameters that touch the corporate cash conversion cycle. Comply with all Federal, State and Local mandates (OSHA, DOT, etc.).

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED
    • Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain discipline preferred) or a minimum of 10 years’ experience with 5 years supervising a team required.
    • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
    • Microsoft Suite expert.
    • Extensive knowledge of ERP/SCM/WMS platforms, RF-enabled Logistics technologies and MHE.
    • Sound financial acumen.
  • PREFERRED
    • Formal forklift training and certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to travel to other corporate locations. Must be able to lift 50lbs., bend, stoop, and crawl, have finger/wrist/arm mobility, and finger dexterity. Flexibility with hours – ability to work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business dictates.
