Overview

The Business Development Director for Memphis (TN) is responsible for devising and implementing a growth strategy in collaboration with the sales team, aimed at expanding market share and wallet share within the C Spire business footprint. This role is focused on identifying and capitalizing on opportunities within the business sector, ensuring strategic positioning, and fostering long-term relationships. The Business Development Director will engage with key decision-makers, drive brand awareness, and actively contribute to development, while also supporting sales teams in executing account planning, deal qualification, and market analysis.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Development:
      • Proactively support development by collaborating with business entities, working closely with product and engineering teams to help businesses transform by using best in class technology.
      • Identify and research opportunities, including RFPs, within new and existing business verticals.
    • Relationship Building:
      • Build and enhance C Spire's brand awareness and product visibility among key decision-makers.
      • Foster a collaborative environment within the business sector in C Spire’s footprint.
      • Develop positive, long-lasting relationships with current clients and influencers in C Spire’s footprint.
    • Sales Support:
      • Assist the sales team in meeting with business accounts and establishing relationships within C Spire’s footprint.
      • Work collaboratively with Sales and Market teams to identify relevant tradeshows and associations, enhancing brand and product awareness.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of business development experience required.
  • Proven track record in sales management, with expertise in technical/IT sales and the ability to drive complex execution to achieve evolving business strategies.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, mobile environment (office, mobile, work from home), with up to 25% - 50% travel required.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and Saturdays when requested.
  • Operates with the highest level of professionalism, personal integrity, and accountability.

PREFERRED

  • Sales Management training is strongly preferred.
