Overview

The Software Application Tester is responsible for creating and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure system specifications are functioning as intended. This position will be involved in making sure that the functional and technical requirements of software changes are followed and implemented as expected. This role will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and adjusting any testing environment needs and will be responsible for making sure that work is ready for production ahead of each Release.

Job Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Participate on multiple project teams during project and/or release lifecycles.
  • Analyze requirements and identify interaction with other systems. Develop a comprehensive test plan for system specifications and work with project team members to resolve any issues identified during the creation of such plan.
  • Execute test plans and communicate results to project teams. Follow-up on outstanding issues and obtain final sign-off on test results and on test plan completion.
  • Analyze and test production defect fixes in the testing queue to ensure resolution meets the original specifications of the system and does not adversely affect other systems. Provide time estimates for testing such changes and final sign-off for deployment to production.
  • As necessary, create and execute comprehensive test plans for vendor upgrades to existing applications. Actively report system issues through ticket creation and monitor to completion.
  • Continually receive training on new and existing systems.
  • Visit operational areas to better understand end-user use of systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with telecommunications or managed IT services billing, sales, support, and/or retail systems required; experience with the Company strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Salesforce
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Must have strong problem-solving skills and high level of initiative. Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in utilizing Salesforce is required.

PREFERRED:

  • Previous testing experience preferred.
