Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer position is responsible for engineering, consulting, and support related to the networking, collaboration, and security products and services that are offered through our Enterprise portfolio. The position performs consulting and engineering services to ensure that our customer’s technology systems function efficiently and securely to meet their information technology needs. They must be hardworking, honest, possess a love of technology, and desire to be part of a great team. They must have the ability to manage themselves, work with customers, and handle multiple projects. This role requires constant training. The applicant should be a self-motivated learner that can quickly assimilate new information and tools into his or her repertoire of knowledge and apply it to new situations.

  • Job Specific Responsibilities
  • Design, install, configure, maintain, and upgrade products within area(s) of expertise
  • Serve as the primary support and maintenance resource for customers
  • Interact with sales staff for client pre-sales activities
  • Comfortable with group presentations, solution demonstrations, and whiteboard sessions
  • Create customer-facing presentations
  • Prepare proposals and statements of work (SOW) for projects
  • Prepare bill of materials (BOMs) for hardware and software quotes
  • Manage project scope, change orders, and customer expectations
  • Build customer relationships and maintain customer satisfaction
  • Manage daily work schedule
  • Participate in training activities within area(s) of expertise
  • Enter time daily in time management system

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • CCNP or above (CCIE Preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a consulting or integration role including responsibilities networking with Cisco routers, switches, wireless, and security products

Preferred Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • Cisco and/or Meraki Certifications
  • Cisco ISE experience 
  • Routing experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS
  • Data center networking technologies such as VXLAN/EVPN, Cisco ACI, Cisco DCNM
  • Campus network fabrics and automation such as Cisco DNA Center
  • Cisco SDWAN and/or Meraki SDWAN
  • Designing and deploying wireless networks with controller-based architectures
  • Designing and implementing collaboration solutions around Cisco Unified Communications Manager and WebEx
  • Designing and implementing QOS in campus and WAN environments
  • Palo Alto Certifications
  • Experience with Ansible and/or Python automating networking devices
  • Familiar with git and source control
  • Comfortable in a Linux environment
  • Experience with JSON/YAML and other network automation configuration files
